This year’s X Factor winner will not release Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ as their first single.

It had been widely reported that Simon Cowell had picked the soft rock classic for the winner of the ITV show to record.

But, it has now emerged that he has instead selected Hannah Montana’s ‘The Climb’.

The track was a top 20 hit when it was released earlier this year.

This weekend will see the X Factor reach the semi-final stage, with Joe McElderry, Danyl Johnson, Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon battling it out for not only a place in next week’s final, but also their – probably literally – 15 minuets of fame.
