Them Crooked Vultures, the much-talked-about supergroup featuring Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme, made their live debut this evening (Wednesday) supporting the Arctic Monkeys at Brixton Academy in London.
The trio were joined by guitarist Alain Johannes for a 45 minute set of new material, which was rapturously welcomed by an eager and hungry audience. Songs that featured in the set included the full-length version of ‘Elephant’, ‘Gunman’, Mind Eraser (No Chaser)’ and ‘Nobody Loves Me And Neither Do I’.
Homme also dedicated the song ‘Daffodils’ to the Arctic Monkeys, with whom he worked on Humbug, their new album released this week.
Stay tuned for a full review of the show on Sound Screen tomorrow (but here’s a hint, it was bloomin’ marvellous).
The Crooked Vultures and the Arctic Monkeys will both be appearing at Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend.
