The one with the polo neck just doesn't look like he likes himself much

Indie band The Rascals have split up. Singer Miles Kane told NME that he has left the band to concentrate on solo work.

Miles recently shot to fame as one half of the successful duo The Last Shadow Puppets, which he formed in 2008 with Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner.

A spokesperson told NME: “We can confirm that The Rascals have parted ways. Miles Kane is currently writing new material and has been in the studio recording some tracks by himself. Greg Mighall and Joe Edwards are working on a film project with Awaydays star Liam Boyle.”

The band released one album, Rascalize, in 2008.
