The Happening was a tad silly, even My Night Shyamalan might, if you caught him on the right day, admit to that. He is also the man behind The Sixth Sense and Signs though, two of the most perfectly executed popcorn entertainment movies of the last decade, and so it is with these flicks in mind (not the one where Mark Wahlberg talks to a pot plant) that we’re allowing ourselves to get all jittery and excited over the trailer for  The Last Airbender.

Adapted from the Nikelodeon animated television series of the same name (minus the ‘Avatar’ part, apparently someone else used that as the name for their film recently) and starring Noah Ringer, Nicloa Pelt and Slumdog’s Dev Patel, Shyamalan’s martial arts-influenced, fantasy spectacular is due for release this July by Paramount.
