Watch: Death Cab For Cutie – ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’

Death Cab For Cutie: about to become the biggest indie band ever. As if they weren't really already.

Death Cab For Cutie: about to become the biggest indie band ever. As if they weren't really already.

Finally, it’s here. The brand new video for Death Cab For Cutie’s song ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’, the title-track of upcoming teen vampire sequel New Moon, has been released online.

Singer Ben Gibbard admitted to MTV that he hadn’t read all the Twilight books but that he thinks the video captures the mood of the new film. The video shows the band performing interspersed with footage from New Moon, which stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.

He said: “The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there’s only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it’s important to recognize that,” he said (of course, for Edward and his kind, life isn’t that short).

“I just wanted something that kind of tonally matched the story and the scenes within the film, so they could kind of be put alongside but not be telling a narrative you’re watching on the screen.”

See if you agree – here’s the video:
