Florence and the Machine announce big tour

Florence got too distracted by the ceiling light to realise that a duck had snuck into the photo
Beautiful Florence and her, er, sturdy Machine, who release their single ‘Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)’ today, have announced a large venue winter UK tour.
Despite the album Lungs not being released until July, Florence has catapulted to success this year, after being heavily featured in indie magazines and broadsheet newspapers. We think she’s pretty cool, the record is solid and she’s probably worth seeing live just to see what kind of sparkly catsuit she squeezes herself into.
The dates are as follows:
17th September – Bristol 02 Academy
18th September – Bournemouth O2 Avademy
20th September – Birmingham O2 Academy
21st September – Leeds O2 Academy
22nd September – Glasgow ABC
24th September – Newcastle O2 Academy
25th September – Manchester Academy
27th September – London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Fans were able to secure super-early-bird tickets for the tour by retrieving an access code via www.hmv.com when pre-ordering the debut album ‘Lungs’ before midday today. The pre-sale ticket facility will then be available before any other offer, on Tuesday 23rd June at 9am.
The next wave of pre-sale tour tickets will be available from the artist’s official website, www.florenceandthemachine.net from Tuesday 23rd June at 4pm.
And if you miss out on all of this, the dates go on general release on Thursday 25th June 25th at 9am via http://www.gigsandtours.com.
Phew.
Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) is out now. Florence and the Machine’s debut album Lungs is released on 6th July 2009.
