Diablo Cody: glad her complexion is less spotty than her outfit.

Diablo Cody has just been announced to pen the book-to-big-screen adaptation of Francine Pascal’s much-loved book series Sweet Valley High.

The books, which were adapted into a successful 90s American TV series, followed beautiful twins Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield in the trials and tribulations of school life, boys, friendship and growing up.

Diablo Cody most recently finished working on forthcoming Megan Fox horror Jennifer’s Body.

No word on when the Sweet Valley High movie will be out or who will star as the twins (are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen too obvious a choice?), but we’ll let you know.
