The European Film Academy and EFA Productions gGmbH have announced the 48 titles on the shortlist for this year’s European Film Awards 2009. British nods include Andrea Arnold’s Fish Tank, Ken Loach’s Looking For Eric and Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.

25 European countries are represented in the nominations, which will be voted for by the 2,000 European Film Academy members in the next few weeks. The nominations will be announced on 7th November at the Sevilla European Film Festival in Spain.

The 22nd European Film Awards will take place on 22nd December at Germany’s Ruhr Metropolis.
