George Clooney: got milk?

George Clooney is rumoured to be in talks for the lead role in Alexander Payne’s new family drama-comedy The Descendants.

The actor, who is busy filming upcoming thriller The American, as well as promoting the three films he worked on last year, will play a wealthy landowner who takes his two daughters on a search for his wife’s lover in the hopes of keeping his family together.

If Clooney takes the role it’ll be his first partnership with Payne, who previously directed award-winning drama-comedies Sideways and About Schmidt.

The story is based on Kaui Hart Hemmings’ novel by the same name, and was adapted for the screen by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.
